Gender-Inclusive Housing

Consistent with university policy and practice, UCSF Housing staff responds to student needs and works to develop a nurturing community atmosphere that values diversity and promotes the dignity of all people. UCSF Housing Services seeks to meet a range of tenant needs, including those related to gender identity. In order to provide support to tenants who seek housing options for their gender identity, Housing Services needs to know that a tenant desires such accommodations. New Housing Applicants who seek housing options in a shared house or apartment will be able to indicate their gender identity and if they want to live in a gender-inclusive unit. Current tenants may update their profile at any time in their Tenant Portal.

In meeting the needs of applicants and tenants, Housing Services recognizes and respects gender identity. Recognizing that individuals are not all alike, Housing Services addresses concerns on a case-by-case basis. Housing Services will work with applicants and tenants toward a comfortable and welcoming housing assignment.

If at any time you need to discuss housing issues related to gender identity or gender-inclusive housing, you may contact [email protected].
